The Algorand Foundation had also partnered with a number of Nigerian institutions including the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and the Central Bank of Nigeria. Taraba State and Algorand Foundation Join Forces

In August 2024, the Algorand Foundation entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Taraba State Government. In using blockchain technology, the state government aims to provide better public services, be more attractive to investment and innovation.

Plateau State and the Algorand Foundation have already developed a very effective collaboration. Together, they are planning and deploying blockchain solutions to address the biggest challenges facing the state. These fixes could be expanding land registration to allow clear titles, making supply chain management more efficient, or advancing digital identity systems. This collaboration prioritizes developing blockchain solutions customized for Plateau State’s needs. We’re partnering with the Anambra State Housing Development Corporation (ASHDC) to test blockchain innovations within public service delivery. We’re working with OmniIndex and FutureX Education to bring blockchain technology to Cross River as a means for managing and securing students’ data. These initiatives further amplify the foundation’s growing dedication to nurturing innovation and accelerating the adoption of blockchain across various industries.

The Algorand Foundation has partnered with the Ministry of Information, Science and Technology of the Lagos state government. Collectively, they’re working to tokenize real estate infrastructure, natural resources and renewable energy. This exciting initiative has the potential to open up tremendous new avenues for investment and economic growth in Lagos State. Through the use of blockchain technology, the government hopes to establish a more transparent and efficient market for these assets.

Since 2021, the Algorand Foundation has invested significantly in educating software developers across Nigeria. As a result, we will have trained over 500 developers as the basis for this training. Beyond that, the foundation has been active in providing grants to other startups such as Hashed Emergent VC. This support further accelerates the growth of the blockchain ecosystem in Nigeria.
