Dead Bruv, the creator of the narrative-driven NFT project Meatbags, is hatching a really cool crowdfunding campaign. What’s his dream, you may ask? To buy a retired Cold War-era nuclear bunker! This new initiative is one piece of a larger effort to bring excitement and innovation back to the NFT space.
The Meatbags project aims to mint 100,000 NFTs in total. Of these, 10,000 will be airdropped to existing Meatbags holders, rewarding early supporters of the project with exclusive rewards. The other 90,000 NFTs will have a public sale on April 21, with each NFT costing $14.
The bunker’s construction began in 1960 and was decommissioned in 1968. It was one of only 1,500 similar facilities responsible for detecting and reporting on nuclear detonations and documenting radioactive fallout patterns throughout the Cold War. The property’s 1.4 acres sit alongside a former city reservoir. It already possesses the needed variances to be turned into an ADU.
SDL Property Auctions recently brought the bunker to auction with a guide price of 650,000 British pounds ($849,000). Save the date – our auction will be on April 24! Dead Bruv is working hard to defend the bunker. It will be the Meatbags community that joins together, using the power of crowdfunding, that’ll turn this unique acquisition into reality.
