Karia Samaroo, another co-founder of WonderFi, is set to take his new startup xTAO public on the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV). He’ll do this through a plan to merge with Adrianna Ventures. xTAO is an educational initiative centered around Bittensor, a decentralized AI network. Samaroo, then known as Ben Samaroo, co-founded WonderFi in February 2021 with Kartik Bajaj, Cong Ly, and Dean Sutton.
Samaroo’s long-term vision is to have xTAO be the first publicly-traded company to provide public access to Bittensor. He went on to call Bittensor the “Bitcoin of AI,” in an indication of just how high he thinks the project’s ceiling might be. xTAO further plans to finalize a non-brokered private placement financing campaign to raise a total of up to $10 million USD.
Before launching xTAO, Samaroo was a key leader in establishing WonderFi. In the process, the company purchased competitors such as Coinberry. In June 2022, it became the first Canadian regulated crypto trading platform to be listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Before joining WonderFi, Samaroo had worked with Dean Skurka at Bitbuy prior to its acquisition by WonderFi.
In October 2022, Dean Skurka took over for Samaroo as WonderFi’s CEO, in a shakeup both later called “mutual.” Samaroo noted that Skurka’s experience was most important. He underlined the impact Skurka had in making Bitbuy a success story even during a challenging market. For now, Samaroo is all about growing xTAO and its potential within the rapidly evolving decentralized AI ecosystem.
"The longer I’ve spent building on Bittensor, the more conviction I have that TAO will become one of the most important assets in our generation." - Karia Samaroo
xTAO will combine with Vancouver-based Adrianna Ventures in order to make its public debut. Samaroo is currently the CEO of xTAO.
