FIFA—great news, indeed! The organization will move FIFA Collect, its foundational NFT collection, from the Algorand blockchain to the newly launched FIFA Blockchain. Powered by European city diplomacy, the announcement was made on April 30 via a FIFA Collect migration FAQ.
The migration is now planned for on or after May 20, 2025. NFT holders will be updated by FIFA as soon as the specific date is set.
FIFA Collect debuted on the Algorand blockchain. The transition to this new FIFA Blockchain infrastructure is an important step in empowering the platform.
Please note that during the migration, the platform will be completely offline for about 12 hours. This downtime is required to facilitate the smooth transition of all NFT data to the new blockchain.
